Clear glass: a building material of choice

Clear glass is a basic type of glass. It is an essential building material. Greenish in color, it is recognized for its enhanced aesthetic and optical qualities. Its light-transmitting capacity enables it to diffuse a great deal of light. It is the all-purpose glass par excellence. It  is endlessly adaptable and can be used for a wide range of projects. To meet your requirements, it is cut to size. The process is all the more efficient because we use the best technology in the industry.

Standard clear glass is undoubtedly one of the most widely used types of glass for interior applications. Like all glass, it can be left single-glazed or double-glazed. It all depends on how you want to use it.All these qualities ensure that our clear glass can meet all your needs.

Characteristics of clear glass

Clear glass is renowned for its versatility and ability to enlarge your rooms with natural light. It doesn’t warp, and once tempered, it offers greater resistance to scratches, bending and impact. What’s more, this glass offers excellent value for money.

Clear glass uses and applications :

Clear glass is an essential material, appreciated for its versatility and transparency. It integrates perfectly into many projects, both indoors and out. Indoors, it is frequently used for glass partitions, doors and shower enclosures, offering natural light diffusion and optimum clarity. Its subtly greenish tint, due to the natural composition of the glass, doesn’t alter the light, creating bright, open spaces.

Outdoors, clear glass is often used for glazed facades, shop windows and sanitaryware. Its great adaptability makes it equally suitable for residential, commercial and industrial projects.

Whether for protective glazing, bay windows or shop windows, clear glass is an aesthetic and economical solution, guaranteeing natural light and visual discretion.

When to use it

Clear glass stands out for its versatility and can be used in a multitude of projects. Single-glazed, it is perfect for decorative or functional applications requiring no special treatment. In tempered glass, it guarantees enhanced resistance to impact and heat. When laminated, it offers enhanced safety by retaining fragments in the event of breakage. Finally, when integrated into insulating glass units, it enhances thermal and acoustic performance while retaining its exceptional clarity.

Clear glass provides optimal transparency, durability, and aesthetic flexibility, making it ideal for industries that prioritize visual clarity and natural light transmission. Its resistance to weather and capacity to support energy-efficient building designs make it popular in commercial and institutional applications.

Clear glass is a strong, adaptable material with excellent optical qualities. While it lacks the added protection of tempered or laminated glass, it can be customized with coatings to improve thermal performance, scratch resistance, and longevity, especially in controlled indoor environments or when reinforced for structural applications.

Clear glass can be tailored to meet specific project requirements. Options include custom thicknesses, coatings for UV and heat resistance, and treatments to enhance durability or reduce reflection. These modifications ensure that clear glass meets the stringent specifications needed for high-performance commercial and architectural environments.

Clear glass can be coated with low-emissivity (Low-E) layers to improve thermal efficiency, reducing energy consumption in buildings. It allows maximum daylight penetration, minimizing the need for artificial lighting and enhancing indoor environmental quality, which is essential for meeting LEED and WELL building standards.

Clear glass is relatively low-maintenance, especially when treated with anti-smudge or self-cleaning coatings. For commercial and industrial buildings, regular cleaning and occasional inspections ensure longevity. Properly installed, clear glass maintains clarity and performance for decades, making it a cost-effective choice for large projects.
